IT'S all systems go for the opening of the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) extension campus in Candaba town in June this year.

DHVSU and the local government assured this, as they oriented over a thousand prospective Candabeño students who are graduating from senior high school this coming March.

DHVSU-Candaba School Director Jessie Manapsal said eight courses will be offered by the campus for the first semester of this school year.

These include Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majors in Marketing or Economics, Bachelor of Science and Entrepreneurship, Bachelor in Public Administration, Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education majors in Math or English and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

Manapsal said each class will be facilitated by qualified instructors and professors to be deployed by DHVSU.

"DHVSU will be providing highly qualified faculty and administration to ensure that students will receive will receive only best education which DHVSU is known for," he said.

Mayor Rene Maglanque, for his part, said they are targeting at least 300 enrollees for the campus' opening.

"We have over a thousand graduating grade 12 students in several schools in Candaba this May but of course, not all of them will enroll in DHVSU so we are targeting 300 to 500 students this coming semester," he said.

Maglanque said Candabeños will be prioritized during the enrolment but students from nearby towns in Pampanga and even Bulacan will also be welcomed.

Aside from the free tuition fee that will be enjoyed by DHVSU students, Maglanque said the local government will also provide free uniforms and transportation through a service vehicle for those coming from the Kapampangan and Tagalog regions.

While awaiting the bill that will make the campus a National Government-funded and -operated school, Maglanque said the local government had allocated P5 million for its initial operation.

The local government will also provide all the necessary equipment such as tables and chairs, airconditioning units and electric fans, he added.

"Everything will be provided to ensure that DHVSU can officially bring its quality education in June 2020 as promised to Candebeños," he said.
