Candaba students benefit from SPES

CANDABA Nearly 10-million funds were distributed to college students of this municipality on Tuesday.

The payout was made by the local government here and Department of Labor and Employment’s Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES).

A total of 960 students received 9,846.40 each for 20 days of working at the municipal hall.

The local government here provided 70% of the total amount or 5,907.84 per student while DOLE shouldered remaining 30% or ?3,938.46 each.

DOLE Pampanga Director Arlyn Tolentino said student conducted clerical works and other assistance at the municipal hall.

“Itong SPES program natin ay nakakatulong sa mga estudyante hindi lang financially kundi pati sa paggain nila ng experience na magagamit nila kapag maghahanap na sila ng trabaho talaga nila,” she said.

Mayor Rene Maglanque urged students to strive hard on their studies.

He said education will be the strongest foundation of their future and career path they will be taking.

“Itong mga programa sa edukasyon ay tuluy-tuloy dahil gusto natin mapatapos ang mga bata ng kolehiyo at hinihingi natin na sana itong tulong na ibinibigay natin ay itulong din nila sa kanilang mga kapatid o kakilala kapag nagtatrabaho na sila para mas marami pang batang Candabeño ang matapos ang pag-aaral,” he said.
