Capas town awarded for anti-drug campaign

THE local government of Capas town recently received an award from the national government for its accomplishments on anti-illegal drugs campaign.

The town officials, led by Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan, shared with their constituents the 2019 National Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Performance Award.

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año stated in the award that Capas town garnered 100 functionality points during the 2018 ADAC Performance Audit.

“In recognition of its exemplary efforts in the performance of its duties in complementing the national government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign,” stated in the award signed by Año and Dangerous Drugs Board Secretary Catalino S. Cuy.

Capas town had been cleared of illegal drugs by the DILG and the Dangerous Drugs Board since 2017.

Edgar Guevarra, head of the town’s Public Order and Safety Management Department, expressed gratitude to barangay chairmen and the people of Capas for support the anti-drug programs of the local government.
