Central Luzon coronavirus positive cases reach 437

THE Department of Health (DOH) reported 437 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in the whole Central Luzon, as of May 10.

Of the number, 174 are currently admitted, while 110 were discharged for completion of home quarantine requirement. Some 105 patients have already recovered, while 45 have died due to the Covid-19.

Bulacan province remains the highest in terms of the number of infection with 130 positive cases, 44 recoveries and 26 deaths. It was followed by Bataan province with 106 positive cases, 22 recoveries and five dead.

The DOH said that Pampanga has 79 positive cases, while Tarlac has 30, Zambales has 27, and Nueva Ecija with 46. Aurora province remains Covid-free as of May 10.

Meanwhile, the 13 positive cases involving overseas Filipino workers from the two cruise ships have all recovered from the virus, said the DOH.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
