Central Luzon Covid-19 cases now at 68,866

THE total number of confirmed coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Central Luzon has reached 98,866 cases, according to the latest bulletin of the Department of Health (DOH).

This, as 1,087 new active cases, along with 33 new deaths, were recorded in the region for April 16 alone.

Of the total number of confirmed cases, 70 percent or 48,465 have recovered, while 27.5 percent or 18,953 are still active.

At least 205 active cases are asymptomatic while 18, 634 are showing mild symptoms.

Another 43 active cases currently show moderate symptoms while 52 are severe and 19 are currently in critical condition.

Some 1,448 people have since died of the virus since March 2020.

The fatality rate for the province is currently at 2.10 percent.

Pampanga alone had recorded 364 confirmed deaths, with a fatality rate of 2.84 percent, the highest among provinces in the region.
