POLICE Regional Office (PRO)-Central Luzon has recorded a significant decrease of 4.45% in the crime incidents in Central Luzon during the second quarter of this year.

PRO-Central Luzon director Brigadier General Joel Coronel reported that a total of 11,156 incidents were recorded from April to June of this year. The data is some 520 less from the 11,676 incidents recorded from January to March of 2019.

Coronel said the decrease in number of crime incidents were particularly seen on the eight focus crimes namely Murder, homicide, robbery, theft, physical injury, carnapping (motorcycle), carnapping (motor vehicle) and rape.

He credited the positive data to PRO-Central Luzon personnel’s continuous and heightened implementation of enhanced managing police operations, and the intensification of the anti-criminality and anti-drug measures.

“The regular conduct of Simulation Exercises, Crisis Emergency Response Exercises and Communication Exercises are also being done to test the operational readiness of our personnel on the ground so as to promptly respond to any eventualities in our communities,” Coronel added.

The PRO-Central Luzon chief also urged the public to continuously unite and cooperate with the police programs aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the community.

“Once again, I would like to appeal to the public to continuously support our fight against all forms of criminality in the Region in order for us to keep on maintaining our neighborhoods safe and secure,” he added.
