CENTRAL Luzon farmers are expected to receive 240,510 sacks of free certified seeds from the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Seed Program for the 2022 dry season.

This was announced by the Department of Agriculture (DA) in Central Luzon on its official social media page.

The DA said that from September 16, 2021 to March 15, 2022, there will be local seed deliveries and distribution to various target municipalities and cities in Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, and Zambales based on their planting calendars.

Farmers in these areas are invited to prepare their valid Identification Cards and Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture or RSBSA stub as seed requirements.

The DA is also reminding farmers to wear a face mask and face shield, and follow physical distancing in receiving the seeds.

“For the final schedule of seed distribution or for those who want to register with RSBSA, just contact your city or municipal agriculture office. Also look out for the announcement of RCEF seed deliveries on the DA Central Luzon Facebook Page,” the post added.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
