THE new passenger terminal of Clark International Airport was turned over to Lipad Corporation.

GMR-Megawide turned over the P16-billion passenger terminal on January 22.

Lipad Corporation president and CEO Bi Yong Chungunco said the terminal was designed to serve eight million passengers and would be operational in July this year.

The terminal project was awarded in 2017 and construction began in August 2018.

Meanwhile, the old terminal, Chungunco said, would be converted into a “mass vaccination facility for 10,000 people a day.”

Before the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, Lipad Corporation has served four million passengers through 700 flights of 20 airlines in 2019.
