ANGELES CITY -- A local internet service provider has donated P5 million for the rehabilitation of the Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center (RLMMC).

Converge ICT Solutions president and CEO Dennis Anthony Uy made the donation to Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. during a simple ceremony at Namari Restaurant in Barangay Balibago.

The turnover of donation was witnessed by Angeles City chief adviser IC Calaguas, Executive Assistant V Raffy Angeles, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, and officials from Converge.

Uy has vowed to support the rehabilitation of the RLMMC, formerly known as the Ospital Ning Angeles (ONA).

"I am supporting the rehabilitation of ONA as part of Converge's social responsibility," said Uy, an Angeleno who started his business in Angeles City.

Uy earlier said he will donate the proceeds from the sale of old copper wire lines of the Angeles City Cable Television Network (ACCTN).

Converge has already taken down the old copper wire lines to give way for the end-to-end fiber optic technology.

The Converge CEO also vowed to provide free internet connection to all public schools in Angeles City.

For his part, Lazatin said he will add more hospital beds at the city hospital to accommodate more patients.

"The rehabilitation of ONA is one of our flagship projects, if not the cornerstone of my administration, for I believe that the only way to productivity and effectiveness is through a healthy citizenry," Lazatin said.

"There's no stopping my administration from rehabilitating ONA, so we can provide excellent health care services to our marginalized sectors," he added.
