Cops arrest 3; Drug den dismantled

A DRUG den was dismantled while eight drug personalities were arrested by authorities in a joint anti-illegal drugs operation over the weekend.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Central Luzon Regional Director Gil Pabilona said the suspects Gregorio Sevilla (target-listed), 64, Milagros Santos (target-listed), 60, Aries John Capule, 29, Jeffrey Derezas, 28, Mark Louie Santos, 24, Kim Guinto, 26, John Carlo Santos,19, and Jun Santos, 33, male, all residents of Orani, Bataan, were arrested by PDEA operatives and Bataan police in Sitio Looban, Barangay Pantalan, Luma, Orani, Bataan.

The anti-drug operation yielded 12 pieces of small sachets containing 10 grams suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P68,000, various drug paraphernalia and buy-bust money used in the operations.

Pabilona said that the operation was initiated by PDEA Bataan Provincial Office in coordination with Bataan PPO led by Police Senior Superintendent Marcelo Dayag.

Sevilla and Santos were arrested inside the den after handling pieces of sachets to a PDEA agent who acted as poseur buyer.

“Sevilla and his cohorts were arrested inside the den while in act of having a pot session but did not resist arrest during the sting,” Pabilona said.

The arrested suspects are now temporarily detained at PDEA Jail Facility in the City of Pampanga and are set to face charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
