THE number of active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases in Minalin town went up to 30 after the holiday season.

In his latest bulletin, Mayor Edgar Flores said majority of the active cases come from Barangay Sta. Rosario, which has 20 patients.

The mayor, however, did not disclose the source of infection and if it is a case of local transmission.

Other barangays with active cases are San Nicolas, Sta. Catalina and Sto. Domingo with two each, Sta. Rita with three and San Pedro with one.

Flores believe that the surge in the number of active cases is caused by the gathering during the holiday season.

He urged anew his constituents to observe minimum health standards and always practice proper hygiene to prevent infection.

Based on the latest count, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the town was 132; 96 of which have recovered and six have died.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
