THE Department of Agriculture (DA) Regional Field Office 3 (RFO 3) hosted this year's simultaneous Regional Food Security Summit, which aimed to discuss ways to address the current issues hounding the agriculture sector.

This year's summit, with a theme “Food Today and Beyond the New Normal,” was conducted by the DA-RFO 3 together with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-Regional Field Office 3 from March 23 to 24 at Hacienda Gracia, Lubao, Pampanga.

The activity aims to further disseminate the DA “New Normal” direction or the 12 Key Strategies to level the country’s agriculture and fisheries sector to the stakeholders in Central Luzon.

The summit also aimed to discuss mitigation measures on several challenges the agriculture sector is facing, which include the price increase in pork products, drop in farmgate prices of palay (unhusked rice), and the onslaught of the African swine fever.
