MODERN jeepney and UV operators thanked President Rodrigo Duterte and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for the implementation of programs that benefitted the transport sector and the riding public.

The drivers mentioned in particular the Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Modernization and the Libreng Sakay, under the Service Contracting Program.

The letter of gratitude, signed by 25 members representing various cooperatives, said passengers were able to enjoy prime transport service since the start of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program and the Service Contracting Program.

It added that the transport sector was able to enjoy mandatory government benefits and lower operational and maintenance expenses through the Fleet Management System, Automatic Fare Collection System (AFCS), and the Global Positioning System (GPS).

The group said with the challenges it has encountered because of the pandemic and the rising price of petroleum products, it still thrives with the help of the DOTr.

The DOTr vowed to continue the programs, projects and initiatives that will alleviate the lives of the riding public.
