A SUSPECTED drug personality was killed when he traded shots with police operatives in Barangay San Joaquin, Sta. Ana, Pampanga on Sunday, March 10.

Police Colonel Jean Fajardo, Pampanga police provincial director, identified the slain suspect as Gary Tungol alias Ka Roman Bordado, a resident of the said barangay.

Fajardo said joint operatives of the Sta. Ana police and Pampanga Provincial Intelligence Branch, armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Mary Anne P. Padron-Rivera of Regional Trial Court-Branch 46 in the City of San Fernando, swooped down on the house of Tungol.

The suspect, however, tried to flee through the back door.

Fajardo said the suspect fired his caliber .45 pistol at the pursuing policemen as he ran.

This prompted the operatives to retaliate, killing Tungol on the spot, she said.

Recovered from the scene were 15 small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, one caliber .45 M1911 A1 pistol loaded with ammunition, three magazines loaded with 40 pieces caliber .45 live ammunition and five spent shells for caliber .45. (Ric Sapnu)
