DSWD-Central Luzon signs agreement to forward professional learning, development

THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Central Luzon and different research, education and social welfare institutions formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that institutionalizes the Social Welfare and Development Learning Network or SWD L-Net in the region.

SWD L-Net is the coming together of different experts from different fields and be a center of professional development and capacity building.

DSWD-Central Luzon Director Marites Maristela said the operations of the Central Luzon SWD L-Net is essential when it comes to the improvement of services.

The network is chaired by Dr. Elena Tesoro, who believes that there is a challenge in sustaining the network, but everyone's commitment to impact the service delivery system will go a long way.

A number of projects are lined up in 2021 under the MOA, including database and knowledge product development, virtual training, research, among others.

The network is comprised of the DSWD-Central Luzon, Department of Interior and Local Government-Central Luzon, Commission on Population and Development-Central Luzon, Philippine Statistics Authority-Central Luzon, Department of Education-Central Luzon, Police Regional Office-Central Luzon, Don Honorio Ventura State University, Tarlac State University, Bulacan State University, Central Luzon State University, Angeles University Foundation, Columbian College, Inc., Our Lady of Fatima University, Holy Angel University, University of the Assumption, A Child's Trust in Ours to Nurture, Inc., La Rose Noire Foundation, Inc., Rehoboth Children's Home, Inc., Kapampangan Manalakaran, Inc., Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc. Pampanga and Bulacan Chapter, Dr. Elena C. Tesoro, Ronnel T. Golimlim, RSW, and Charlo Costales.
