CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has issued a suggested retail price (SRP) table for school supplies.

This is in time for the resumption of face-to-face classes this August.

The latest SRP contains price, brands, designs and specifications of the products.

For notebooks, the individual price ranges from P17.50 to P34.

A bundle with six pieces promo pack for notebooks costs between P129.75 and P164.75.

Writing pad papers for Grades 1 to 4 are priced at P14 up to P24 while a pack of three pads costs P50.

An intermediate pad costs between P22.50 and 30.

Pencils range from P8 - P27 for a pack of three.

The cost of ballpens is estimated from P4.75 to P19 per piece, while a pack of three ballpens is priced at P16 to P32.

An eight-piece crayon box cost P18 - P27 while a 12-piece box is offered at P32.

Sharpeners should be priced between P14 and P54 and ruler between P13 and P39.

DTI Central Luzon Director Leonila T. Baluyut said the SRP will help parents and students compare prices in different stores.

She encourages buyers to canvass or check other suppliers as other stores may offer the same product at a lower price.

The DTI also reminded buyers to check the number of pages for notebooks and pad papers, the brand name, type of paper used, and the address of the manufacturer.

For crayons, consumers should acquire “non-toxic” items allowed by the Food and Drug Administration.
