Enraged wife burns husband to death in Santa Rita town

SANTA RITA -- Bottled-up rage could have driven a 24-year-old woman here to burn his husband inside their home in Santa Rita town early Sunday morning, July 26, 2020.

The suspect only wanted to initially teach her husband a lesson. According to police reports, it was said that the husband was a womanizer.

The suspect said that she has been a victim of brutal beatings and bad words from her husband. The suspect alleged that her husband was a womanizer.

The victim's relatives defended the husband stating that those commenting on social media are not aware of the entire story behind the two couples.

The suspect, who is facing charges of parricide, doused her husband with gasoline while he was asleep before setting him on fire with a cigarette lighter.

Police investigation on the incident is still ongoing. The woman is currently detained at the Santa Rita Municipal Police Station. The victim and the suspects' identities have been withheld in compliance with Section 25 of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.
