AT LEAST 150 beneficiaries of the City Government of San Fernando’s livelihood and skills training program were recognized over the weekend at Heroes Hall for completing their 15-day training on different skill areas.

The program was initiated by the City Employment Service Division, in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda).

These beneficiaries underwent training on massage therapy, hairdressing, and beauty care under Tesda-accredited trainers in several barangays of this capital city starting in February.

“Yung recognition day, ginawa natin upang bigyang-pagkilala yung mga beneficiaries natin na nakapagtapos ng kanilang training. Ito rin yung hakbang para makapagsimula na sila sa kanilang self-employment undertakings We conduct the recognition day to give citations to our beneficiaries who finished the training. This is also the first step for their self-employment),” said CESD Manpower Development Officer II Meilyn Gallarde.

The completers will now undergo self-employment undertakings where they can hold services for their respective clients using the starter kits awarded by the city government. They also received certificates and training allowances.

“Hindi natatapos sa graduation yung program natin for the beneficiaries. Kasama din sa trabaho natin yung pag-momonitor sa kanilang undertakings and we are hoping na magamit nila nang maigi yung trainings at starter kits (Our program for the beneficiaries does not end with their graduation). It also includes the monitoring of their undertakings, with hopes that they can use their trainings and starter kits),” she added.

Every year, the CESD produces around 300 graduates of their skills training program. (PR)
