Floods hit major roads in Pampanga

MOTORISTS from the fourth district towns of Pampanga were surprised by almost knee-deep flooding on major thoroughfares on Thursday morning, July 29, 2021.

Following the onslaught of heavy rains Thursday dawn, flashfloods hit major roads from Masantol town going to City of San Fernando.

Among the affected roads were the stretch of MacArthur Highway, Apalit-Macabebe-Masantol Road, and Sto. Tomas-Minalin Road going to Macabebe town.

Floodwaters along MacArthur Highway slowly subsided by noon, but Apalit-Macabebe-Masantol Road and Sto. Tomas-Minalin Road remained hardly to not passable at all to light vehicles until noon, according to Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Motorists were reminded to take extra precaution as they ply the said routes as roads remains slippery despite subsiding of floodwater.
