FORMER Third District Board Member Trina Dizon-Guevarra is staging a political comeback as she filed her certificate of candidacy for councilor before the Mexico municipal office of the Commission on Elections.

Dizon-Guevarra is no stranger to local politics. She won in the 2010 elections as one of the three representatives of the third district in the Provincial Board.

She is now running as an independent councilor for Mexico town, a post she previously occupied.

Dizon-Guevarra had enjoyed political popularity in Mexico town. She was elected three times in a row as councilor since 2001 and garnered the highest votes among councilors, not only once but twice in the 2004 and 2007 elections.

Dizon-Guevarra said she will push for more measures on education, gender empowerment and the urban development of the town.

She added that she will be working towards legislative measures that will address the growing commercial and industrial development of the town.
