A FORMER police officer and his companion were arrested in an anti-drug operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Barangay Pulung Maragul, Angeles City Wednesday, July 17.

The suspects were identified as Sylvestre Fortinaka De Guzman, 33, a former policeman, of Purok 4 Jesus Street Pulung Maragul and Rodrigo Tulabot De Guzman, 56, of Block 12 Lot 12 Licorice Street, Barangay Santo Domingo.

Joint operatives of the PNP Regional Drug Enforcement Unit, Police Regional Office 3, and the Angeles City Police Station 6 conducted the drug bust which led to the arrest of the two.

The Police Station 6 said the two suspects conspired in selling two sachets of illegal drugs to police agents.

Police seized 10 sachets of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and P1,000 marked money from the suspects.

The law enforcers also confiscated the suspects’ motorcycle and minivan.

In compliance with Section 21 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, the raiding team made the marking and inventory of the pieces of evidence in the presence of elected barangay officials, mediamen, and Department of Justice representatives.

The suspects, who are set to undergo drug testing, were taken to the Police Station 6 for custodial investigation.
