RE-ELECTIONIST Mayor Crisostomo Garbo of Mabalacat City said that he feels God's sign of victory in the city's 2019 mayoralty race with the support of the people.

Garbo, who celebrated his 55th birthday Friday, October 12, stressed this when he filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for the city mayorship under Governor Lilia Pineda's Kambilan Party on same day.

“I am overwhelmed with the people's support to my birthday [celebration] COC filing. Maybe this is a sign from our Lord, I can feel His love. He wants to show me that there will be victory in 2019,” Garbo said.

“If the Lord gave his blessings, you claim it,” he added.

Garbo was accompanied by two of his runningmates, incumbent councilors Gerald Aquino who filed his COC for vice mayor, and Krisanel “Winwin” Garbo, who is seeking reelection.

Garbo will be opposed by Vice Mayor Christian Halili, the official candidate of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, in the 2019 mayoralty.

The mayor did not name his teammates who will be running for councilors saying their identities are still “secret”. He said their candidates for councilor are set to file their respective COCs on Tuesday, which is the last day of filing.

Garbo vowed to continue implementing his programs on health, education, peace and agriculture.

“But of course there are other programs that need to be sustained for the benefit of our people,” the first-termer mayor said.

Garbo at the same time thanked his constituents and the media for supporting his administration which, he said, is espousing transparent and good governance.
