MABALACAT CITY Mayor Crisostomo Garbo gave a stern warning against illegal drug pushers who plan to proliferate prohibited substances in his city to “back off.”

This message was sent to City Information Officer Jay Pelayo after the Mabalacat City police found and neutralized some of the suspects in the killing of two policemen assigned at the drug enforcement unit last week.

"Huwag na kayong pumasok dito dahil matindi ang direktiba ko. Since I took over as the mayor, wala ni isa ang naipakiusap sa akin regarding sa droga o sa sugal,” said Garbo who is referring to the perpetrators trying to pose a bribe in exchange of protection from the city government.

Garbo said the city government has been consistent in conducting regular assemblies with its Peace and Order Council which consists of various departments and government agencies like the DILG, PNP, PDEA, BFP, barangay officials, and other local authorities.

In January this year, the local government's Anti-Drug Abuse Council has been awarded as one of the best councils by the PDEA for its exemplary efforts in the performance of its duties complementing the national government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign.
