GOVERNOR Dennis Pineda said the Capitol's vaccination drive was able to facilitate the inoculation of 5,000 employees of companies that are members of the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (PamCham) from September 10 and 11.

“They belong to the A4 or economic frontliners that the national government started vaccinating in Clark. Our target is for our economy to recover and for many to be able to work again to support their families,” Pineda said.

The vaccines were purchased by the Pampanga Provincial Government.

Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (PDRRMO) chief Angie Blanco and special health assistant Malu Lacson made sure that the vaccination went well.

“We will continue our vaccinations in the range of A4s. Local governments are still focusing on senior citizens and those with comorbidities,” Pineda added.

Early this month, Pineda met with obstetrician-gynecologists (OB-GYN) from district hospitals of the province to seek their cooperation in a program aimed at providing a facility exclusively for OB-GYN patients who test positive for the coronavirus.

He said this is also a way to help decongest the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital due to the spike in the number of Covid-19 patients currently admitted here.

Based on what was discussed, an initial 15 beds will be allocated to the Covid-19 referral hospital for pregnant women affected by Covid-19.
