THE province of Pampanga was one of those badly affected by the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that struck Zambales on Monday, April 22.

Roads were cracked open and some structures collapsed following the tremor, which was also felt in other areas in Central Luzon, including Metro Manila.

As of Tuesday afternoon, April 23, at least 16 people were reported dead and several others remained missing.

The Provincial Board declared on Tuesday a state of calamity in the province.

Governor Lilia Pineda said the actual extent of the damage to public infrastructure and private properties is still under assessment. (SunStar Philippines)
