IN AN aim to protect the community from the coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the local government of Arayat is distributing face masks and multivitamins to school children.

Mayor Emmanuel Alejandrino and his wife Madeth are going around elementary schools in the town to provide first-hand protection to the children.

The mayor said more than 1,000 public elementary students already received face masks and multivitamins under the program.

"We schedule at least five elementary schools per week starting February, so we can finish them faster because this is a matter of health concern and we want to provide protection to the children as fast as possible," he said.

He said face masks and multivitamins are very important these days to ensure the health and wellness of Arayateño children.

He said multivitamins boost the immune system of the children, while face masks serve as external protection from virus, diseases and dust.

"During this time when children's health is at risk from various diseases, we want to make sure that they have the necessary protection," he said.
