CHILDREN who attended the early morning mass in St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Masantol town Sunday received treats from Mayor Danilo Guintu.

Guintu distributed packs of candies to children after the blessing of Rev. Fr. Roland Moraleja in celebration of the feast day of Sto. Niño.

“Since it is the feast day of child Jesus, we thought of celebrating it with the Masantoleño children whom the Sto. Niño represents,” Guintu said.

Sto. Niño, whose feast day was celebrated across the country on the third Sunday of January, is a Roman Catholic title of the Child Jesus associated with a religious image of the Christ Child.

It is also celebrated in Cebu with its Sinulog Festival where hundreds of participants dance on street parades.
