PAMPANGA Third District Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr. led the inspection of two major construction projects inside the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) regional office compound the other day.

Gonzales was toured by DPWH Regional Director Roseller Tolentino and Pampanga First District Engineer Almer Miranda in the inspection of the six-story regional office building of the DPWH.

The project is among the biggest projects of the DPWH in the region, which include provisions for alternate offices of the DPWH national office.

"The facility will have floors dedicated for national office of the DPWH in case of a worst-case scenario in Metro Manila," Gonzales said, adding that some of the floors in the ongoing project will house the national office of the DPWH in case of a 7.2-magnitude earthquake striking Metro Manila.

The project was initially funded with more than P300 million last year and another P500 million this year, according to Gonzales.

He also visited the site of the P50-million district engineering office, which is currently being constructed.

He said he is committed in helping to facilitate the funding of major government and public infrastructures in the district.
