Lawmaker, mayor distribute assistance to individuals in crisis situation

THIRD District Representative Aurelio Gonzales Jr. and Bacolor Mayor Diman Datu led the distribution of financial assistance to indigents in crisis situation in Bacolor through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

The distribution was held at the Bacolor Gym and attended by town officials, as well as Gonzales's chief of staff Mica Gonzales and Engr. Aurelio Brenz Gonzales.

Gonzales, who spoke during the event, emphasized the need to provide more support to indigents amid the ongoing pandemic.

He said the indigent sector has felt the greatest impact of the pandemic particularly on their livelihoods.

At least 280 residents of Bacolor received financial aid from the joint effort of the DSWD and the Congressional District Office, which organized the distribution activities through the Municipal Government of Bacolor strictly enforcing health protocols.

Each of the beneficiaries received some P3,000 to P5,000 in assistance.

Under the Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the DSWD, qualified beneficiaries were provided cash aids.
