"IT’S my moral obligation to face and help my homeowners."

This was the statement of developer Delfin Lee, president of the Globe Asiatique Realty Holdings Corporation, when he visited Xevera Mabalacat Monday, September 24, three days following his release from the provincial jail on Thursday.

Lee is out on bail after the Supreme Court downgraded the syndicated estafa charges against him to simple estafa.

He said his visit was against the advice of his friends and family, but he decided to push through with the visit for the sake of the homeowners.

"How can I turn my back on my homeowners? I wouldn’t show up here? If there is a problem will I just stay away from it? I could not do that because I feel it's my moral obligation to face them and the truth is, I would like to see how Xevera looks now," Lee said.

He thanked Mayor Crisostomo Garbo and Xevera Homeowners Association officer Chook Santos for helping in the efforts to maintain the amenities inside the housing area.

Accompanied by city officials and teachers, Lee also visited the Doña Asuncion Integrated School which he established in honor of his mother.

Eight years ago, Lee was detained over the alleged housing scam, although he denied the accusations.

Lee said there was no such thing as double sale of housing units in several communities developed by Globe Asiatique.

He also expressed hopes that he will be able to talk to Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-Ibig) officials to settle various issues, including the ownership status over the housing units.

"That is precisely why I am here. I could not turn my back on my homeowners. Since I was charged, my homeowners have been in limbo," Lee said.

He stressed that the Pag-Ibig Fund is not his enemy.

"Even for the next ten years the case will be there. Shouldn’t we just talk about this and solve whatever problem there is, especially there are homeowners involved?" Lee said.

He said it was time to rebuild the communities for the sake of the homeowners.

"It's time we start rebuilding. It's time we move on. Nothing will happen if we keep on feuding. The community will just go to waste," he said.
