Loitering, no face masks individuals penalized in Angeles

ANGELES CITY -- More than a hundred individuals here were fined by the City Government for loitering and not wearing face masks in public.

Earlier, Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. ordered the stricter implementation of Covid-19 health and safety protocols, specifically Ordinance 546 which penalizes individuals not wearing face masks, not bringing quarantine passes and loitering outside their homes. The fine for first-time violators is P1,000.

Lazatin also ordered the launch of a massive information drive to remind Angeleños of the city’s regulations and protocols against Covid-19.

In his continuing efforts to stop the spread of the virus in the city, Lazatin warned his residents of the consequences of violating the government’s health protocols.

Parurusahan po ang dapat parusahan,” he said.

Angeles City breached the 100th mark with its Covid-19 positive cases on August 6, as nine new cases were reported in just one day.
