THE Mabalacat City Government recognized the efforts of medical and non-medical frontliners during the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

Mabalacat City Information Officer Jose Aubrey Pelayo IV commended the active coordination of the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, Rural Health Units and Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams in combating the ongoing health crisis.

"The City Government is sending continuous praises and thanks to our frontliners on their dedication in helping us in the midst of this crisis. It seems like it has been their routine to aid us, and their commitment is still continuous. Thanking them is just a little penny for giving back with the many labors they gave us," he said.

He also lauded non-medical frontliners' efforts for more than a year with this pandemic.

In addition, the City Government praised various stakeholders for activating hotels and motels in the city to be used as quarantine facilities.

"The hotels and motels in the city during the lockdown did not only serve as quarantine facilities. At the same time, it had a positive effect in our economy. These establishments ought to be closed, and if that happened, many would have lost their jobs. We just made sure that they follow the health and safety guidelines from the Interagency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases," Pelayo added. (PIA)
