THE local government unit (LGU) of Mabalacat City has started verifying the complaints regarding the eligibility of some beneficiaries in the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) Covid-19 cash assistance program of the National Government.

The city's Gender and Development (GAD) stated that it initiated a meeting with officials of the Department of the Interior and Local Government and Philippine National Police (PNP) on June 3 in connection to this.

"Pagkatapos ng meeting ng aming tanggapan kasama ang DILG at PNP Mabalacat City, nagsimula na kahapon (June 2, 2020) ang verificatin ng mga complaints na aming na-receive grievance mechanism," the Mabalacat City GAD said.

The verification result will be forwarded to the Mabalacat City Human Resource Management Office and Civil Service Commission if the alleged ineligible recipients are job order, casual, and permanent employees of the City Hall.

If the beneficiary is an elected or elected barangay official, the verification result will be forwarded to the DILG.

The local government, through its GAD office, is also planning to file cases against individuals who received the cash assistance twice or two or more members of a family received the social amelioration.

The City Government is also planning to run after employed individuals who got both the Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program and SAP.

The Mabalacat City GAD office encouraged the people to report ineligible SAP recipients to its office.

"Sa mga nais pa pong mag report muli, open ang aming drop box sa GAD Office o kaya ay mag email sa dswd.espsap.mabalacatcity@gmail.com. Asahan po ninyo na iveverify po namin ang mga ito," the GAD office stated.
