THE local government of Mabalacat City in Pampanga has announced the temporary closure of public and private cemeteries from October 29 to November 4.

This is pursuant to the Executive Orders Number 79 and 85 issued by Mayor Crisostomo Garbo.

"All public and private cemeteries in Mabalacat City, Pampanga shall be temporary closed from October 29, 2020 to November 4, 2020. This is to prevent the spread of the dreaded Covid-19 virus during the All Saints' Day celebration," the order stated.

The local government unit (LGU) furnished administrators of public cemeteries and owners of private memorial parks copies of the mayor's orders.

Individuals visiting the resting places during the dates not covered by the executive orders are advised to observe health protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.

"However, during the allowable dates, please advise your clients to observe the mandatory social distancing and the strict health protocols on wearing of face mask and face shield," Garbo told the memorial park managers.

The City Health Office has recorded 437 Covid-19 cases as of October 16, 2020.

Of this figure, 155 cases are active, while 281 have recovered, and one had died.

Garbo appealed to his constituents to always pray for God's blessings. He urged the residents to avoid public places and gatherings to prevent the spread of virus.
