THE municipality of Macabebe welcomed the New Year with its 100th case of coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Based on the local government's bulletin, the patient is a 25-year-old female from Barangay San Jose, who was initially pregnant when she experienced Covid-19 symptoms on December 28.

Before experiencing symptoms, the patient stayed at home with her husband, who came from Valenzuela on December 19. Three days after, she went to Apalit for a pre-natal check-up.

On January 2, the patient went into emergency C-section while she was still experiencing cough and colds.

She was tested for the coronavirus via reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction the following day and the result came back positive.

The patient is now in an isolation facility while her three identified asymptomatic close contacts are awaiting test results.

Meanwhile, a total of 77 recoveries and 12 deaths from Covid-19 were also recorded in this town.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
