MASANTOL - Twenty-one-year-old Jose Antonio “Ton-Ton” Bustos is set to lead this municipality in the next three years as he was elected as the next local chief executive.

Bustos, who won with 17,689 votes against rival Aguinaldo “Homer” Guintu with 16,824, is the youngest among all the elected mayors in Pampanga in the recent May 2022 polls.

Despite being a young blood, Bustos is not new in leadership and public service as he headed various non-government organizations and also served as the National Youth chairperson of Patrol Partylist prior to his election.

The mayor-elect has said that his administration will introduce a new brand of governance that is focused on consultation with constituents.

Among the programs he eyes include boosting of programs catering to the basic needs of a person such as healthcare and education systems, and providing jobs and livelihood.

“Ito ang umpisa ng Bagong Masantol na matagal na natin hinihintay,” Bustos said.

He expressed gratitude to all those who have supported and joined him in his crusade for a better Masantol.

“Marami pong salamat hindi lang sa suporta kundi sa malalim na pagmamahal na ipinakita ninyo. Hindi po kayo mabibigo,” Bustos said.
