ANGELES City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr. has issued a memorandum stating that June 15, 2021 is not a special non-working holiday in Angeles City.

In his Memorandum 964 Series of 2021, dated June 14, 2021, Lazatin said that pursuant to the advisory from the Office of the President, local government units are limited to only two requests for special non-working holidays.

The City Government requested the Office of the President to declare the Feast of La Naval and the Feast of Apung Mamacalulu as special non-working holidays, according to Lazatin.

"Traditionally, Angeles City requests three special non-working days to be proclaimed every year by the Office of the President, namely, the Pinatubo Anniversary, the Feast of La Naval, and the Feast of Apung Mamacalulu," he said.

"This year, however, in the wake of the economic effects of the pandemic, the Office of the President advised LGUs to limit their requests to a maximum of two special non-working holidays, hence, the City of Angeles requested for the proclamation of the Feast of La Naval and the Feast of Apung Mamacalulu," Lazatin added.

Malacañang has declared June 15, 2021 special non-working holiday in Pampanga in observance of the 30th anniversary of the Mount Pinatubo eruption.
