MABALACAT CITY -- Final tweaking is in the works for this component city as Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo is set to sign a new Executive Order to revamp the city’s Covid-19 Response Initiative System.

Garbo recently convened the heads of the Mabalacat City Government (MCG) Covid-19 Inter-Agency Task Force to heighten the city's response to the new challenges of the pandemic.

“Tayo po ay nasa pagfinalize na ng pagiibayo ng ating plano sa ating pagtugon sa mapanghamong pandemyang ito. Marami po tayong innovation na isasagawa kontra-Covid-19 ngunit ito po ay mangangailangan ng kooperasyon mula sa bawat Mabalaqueño,” Garbo said.

Dubbed “Centralized Covid-19 Response Initiative System,” the new approach aims to revamp the city’s Prevent-Trace-Isolate-Reintegrate framework.

The core of the EO emphasizes the participation of each Mabalaqueño household and the community in laying the first line of defense against Covid-19. The EO has also pinpointed "ground zero areas," which will be included in the city’s heightened surveillance zones.

The local IATF also identified the importance of the implementation and enforcement of the minimum health standards, which are proven effective locally and globally.

On the city’s mass vaccination plan, some medical frontliners and priority individuals have already been inoculated with their first and second doses of the vaccines. For MCG’s part, the LGU is set to introduce the "Trident Attack Plan" against Covid-19 through the assistance of the national government, private corporations and medical institutions. This is to fill the gap on the Covid-19 mass immunization.

Meanwhile, on the community level, the composition of the grassroots response teams will also be introduced in the EO. The teams are seen to accelerate the testing and contact-tracing efforts, registration, orientation, screening, jabbing, and post-vaccination care of the local government.

The EO is also set to establish a partnership with the private sector to pool medical resources and additional facilities to assist individuals afflicted by the said disease. Garbo’s EO will also introduce the Mabalacat Telemedicine Consultation and a Home Care System for Mabalaqueños.

“Ang EO na ito ay bahagi ng ating mas pina-igting na serbisyo ng pamahalaang lungsod sa gitna ng pandemya. Pansamantala, hindi ko po muna mailalathala ang buong detalye ng aking EO sa ngayon dahil patuloy parin po natin itong pinag-aaralan at ikinokonsulta sa ating mga kasamahan sa local IATF at pribadong sektor,” the mayor said.
