MABALACAT City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo vowed to allot 1,000 more slots for senior citizen pensioners in the city in 2020.

Garbo made the announcement after distributing social pension to hundreds of indigent senior citizens at FilHomes in Barangay Mabiga before the New Year.

The elders received P1,500 each, representing their social pension for the last quarter of 2019.

In his message to the elders, Garbo said the “MCG 2020 Vision” program includes senior citizens’ welfare.

Aside from their quarterly pension, Garbo told the elders that top-caliber medical, hospital and financial programs are available for them anytime.

“Maliban sa local social pension ay nagpapatuloy rin ang iba pang programa ng siyudad na nakatuon sa pagkalinga para sa mga lolo at lola tulad ng pagbibigay ng tulong pinansiyal, medikal at iba pa upang mas lalong maitaguyod ang iba’t ibang serbisyo para sa mga nakatatandang Mabalaqueño,” Garbo said.

(Aside from local social pension, other city programs for the welfare of our elders continue, such as financial aid, medical assistance and other benefits to promote services for the Mabalaqueño elders)

The mayor’s 2020 vision program also include a more localized implementation of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps, dubbed as “Pagkain sa Hapag Kainan.”

Garbo vowed to provide infrastructure projects like health stations and educational facilities, to enable the beneficiaries to comply with the health and education requirements of the local 4Ps.

He also dismissed participation of local officials in identifying beneficiaries to maintain impartiality and to avoid the perception of possible political influence.
