THE new Building B of New Clark City Athletes Village will be used as the new coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) field extension facility of Diosdado P. Macapagal Memorial Hospital (DPMMH).

Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda himself presented the newly set-up infirmary to the Department of Health (DOH) Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau (HFSRB) Director lawyer Nicolas B. Lutero during their accreditation site visit to the facility.

The said extension facility has a capacity of 252 beds. Each room has a bed, refrigerator and other amenities.

The site visit also included Incident Commander of Pampanga isolation facilities Dr. Dax Tidula, DPMMH Chief of Hospital focal person Dr. Fleur Zapanta, and Central Command Deputy on Covid-19 vaccination rollout Malu Lacson, and other officials from the DOH.

Pineda earlier appealed to the Bases Conversion and Development Authority to reuse a facility at New Clark City to meet the needs of individuals affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Pineda, this initiative aims to help decongest hospitals in the province that are full and can no longer afford to receive patients with coronavirus infection.
