BALANGA CITY -- The establishment of new science and arts secondary schools in Bataan is a remarkable addition in making the province a center for education.

During the 11th Education Summit, Bataan Second district representative Jose Enrique Garcia III spoke to hundreds of parents, teachers, and administrators.

He said that Balanga City National Science High School (BCNSHS) is now catering to students who are inclined to science and math.

“We are all aware that we have students who advance in the fields of science and math, and we want to further enhance their skills with the creation of the national science high school in Balanga,” Garcia said.

He added that further developments and budget increase will be provided to the school as it has just started its operation last year.

Moreover, Bataan High School for the Arts (BHSA) is expected to open next school year and will rise in Bagac town.

“Since we already have a science high school, we will now have another school for students who are skilled in terms of arts which will hopefully start next year,” he added furthered.

The arts school will feature a folk dance studio, theater building, and other specialized facilities.

Garcia said it is the second arts-focused high school after the Philippine High School for the Arts in Laguna.

“As we continue to improve and develop all the schools in our province, I hope more students who are into the fields of science as well as in arts can be part of this,” the legislator stressed.

The creation of both schools was authored by Garcia during the 17th Congress. (PIA)
