No red tide in 4 CL provinces

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The coastal waters of Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan and Zambales are safe from toxic red tide.

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region III (BFAR-3) cited Shellfish Bulletin No. 08 Series of 2023 .

The bulletin stated that the coastal waters in said provinces are negative from paralytic shellfish poison.

“All types of shellfish gathered from these areas are safe for human consumption,” BFAR-3 said.

Areas where paralytic shellfish poison was found include Dauis and Tagbilaran City in Bohol; Dumanquillas Bay in Zamboanga del Sur; and Lianga Bay in Surigao del Sur.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
