IN AN aim to improve the delivery of services to the elderly, the local government of Candaba is eyeing the construction of Office Senior Citizens' Affairs (Osca) buildings in the town's 33 barangays.

Mayor Rene Maglanque, in a recent meeting with Candabeño senior citizens, disclosed his plan to construct an Osca building in each barangay in the next three years of his term.

The eyed Osca building will also include the needed equipment and facilities, as well as coordinators, to ensure that senior citizens can quickly avail themselves of the government services they opt to, Maglanque said.

Aside from the new offices, Maglanque also vowed to provide additional P1,000 in the monthly allowances of registered senior citizens to aid them on their daily medical and food expenses.

Vice Mayor Michael Sagum, for his part, assured the elderly that the local council will provide the necessary legislative activities to properly implement the infrastructure and social projects eyed by the local government.
