AN OVERSEAS Filipino worker (OFW) from Malaysia recently reunited with his family in Magalang town, Pampanga with the help of local officials.

The local government said Juliet Zapanta was repatriated after several months of stay in the said country.

"Masayang nakauwi kanina si Ms. Juliet Zapanta sa kanilang pamilya matapos ang ilang buwang pamamalagi nito sa bansang Malaysia," the municipal government said.

Through Facebook, Zapanta sought the help of Councilor Koko Gonzales, who immediately relayed the OFW's situation to Mayor Romy Pecson.

"Humingi ng tulong ang ating Kabalen na si Juliet as Facebook page ni Konsehal Koko at agad itong inilapit kay Mayor Pecson noong nakaraang linggo," it said.

Pecson immediately arranged the swab testing and hotel accommodation of Zapanta who completed a 14-day quarantine.

"Agad inasikaso ni Mayor Pecson ang pagpapa-swab test at hotel accommodation ng ating Kabalen matapos itong hindi makakuha ng tulong sa ibang ahensiya ng gobierno," the local government disclosed.

Zapanta tested negative for Covid-19, but she will still undergo home quarantine, according to the local officials.
