MORE than 700 job order employees recently received enhanced medical insurance through health cards from the City Government of San Fernando with its partner Philippine British Assurance Company, Incorporated during the ceremonial awarding at Heroes Hall here.

The City Human Resource Management Office (CHRMO) announced that the recipients will be awarded the cards, which they can use for their medical needs.

CHRMO head Rachelle Yusi stated that the health card is a gift to the city's job order employees, who are being recognized for their daily efforts, as the work they do is not ordinary.

Yusi added that the awarding is under the “equal employment opportunity” policy, which indicates that all government employees should be given equal opportunities in employment aspects, including compensation and benefits.

Meanwhile, Mayor Edwin Santiago said that “a healthy body will help in building a wealthy community.”

“From the word 'public servant,' we are working to provide people with the services they need. If our bodies are not healthy, how can we do our job?” Santiago said.

The city government has also started holding orientation on how to use the cards to the first batch of employees and will conduct the same for others who will receive the cards soon.

“We do what we say, that's why we're announcing these health cards to all of you, because they're all being done. We all want to be equal, no one and nothing will be left behind, even with our government employees,” Santiago added.
