P3-M worth of ketamine seized

AGENTS of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Bureau of Customs - Clark, and police were able to seize around 600 grams of suspected ketamine during a controlled delivery operation on Tuesday dawn, May 17, 2022.

The suspected illegal drugs were confiscated from Taiwanese national identified as “Chang.”

Authorities said that the package containing suspected ketamine was declared as air purifier and arrived at the Port of Clark last May 12, 2022.

"Ketamine is a dangerous drugs classified as hallucinogenic drugs. It can sedate, incapacitate, and cause short term memory loss, and because of this, some people use it as date-rape drug", said a chemist from PDEA Central Luzon.

Confiscated during the operation were two boxes which concealed six stainless steel water purifier containing 600 grams of ketamine with a street value of P3-million.

A charge for violation of Section 4 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the arrested suspect.
