P5-M scholarship grants distributed in San Simon

THE local government in San Simon town, Pampanga has continued to provide assistance to Simonian students through scholarship grants.

A total of 556 college students and around 600 senior high school students enrolled in various schools received on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, financial assistance under the local government's scholarship program.

Mayor Abundio Punsalan, Jr. said each college student received P5,000, while senior high school students got P4,000 each.

"We distributed around P5-million cash on Wednesday and Friday to assist in the schooling expenses of students and parents," the mayor said.

In his message, Punsalan also urged students to take advantage of the aid in building a better future for themselves and their families.

"Many people were not given the same opportunity as yours so use this as a ladder to reach your goals in life," he said.

THREAT. According to a Capitol consultant, the Cebu City Government is threatening to shut down the Cebu North Bus Terminal at the back of SM City Cebu (left) and the Cebu South Bus Terminal along N. Bacalso Ave. for operating without a business permit. The Province, which runs both terminals, maintains that it operates the facilities as a public service for passengers going to the province and vice versa. /
