MORE than half a million pesos worth of suspected illegal drugs were seized by the Pampanga Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit in an entrapment operation launched in Mabalacat City.

Pampanga Provincial Police Office Director Colonel Andres Simbajon said the illegal drugs were recovered from a high-value target identified as Rosel Julius Adula, 36, a resident of Barangay Dau in the said city.

Simbajon said the suspect intially sold a sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) to a police asset that led to his immediate arrest.

"The suspect, however, yielded five more small sachets and three medium sachets of suspected shabu during the bodu search, which, together with the subject of sale, have an estimated weight of 80 grams and street value of P544,000," Simbajon said.

Adula is now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
