PamCham lauds initiative for workers’ free ride

Ian Ocampo Flora

THE top leader of the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (PamCham) lauded the provision of free transportation to workers by the provincial government.

Governor Dennis Pineda initiated the program while public transportation is still unavailable under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).

PamCham president Rene Romero noted companies now confront formidable challenges, foremost of which are the varied and confusing “back to work” policies of local government units.

This is on top of the financial constraints and revenue uncertainties they expect to contend with, as they try to restart and revive their businesses during the MECQ.

Romero added that the Libreng Sakay 1 & 2 program of the province is a welcome relief, especially for companies who cannot, on their own, shuttle their employees to and from work.
