THE Department of Agriculture (DA) for Central Luzon distributed machinery and equipment worth P2 million to 40 cooperatives and associations of farmers in the region.

This is under the High-Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP).

The program aims to help farmers facilitate and speed up farming using innovative and modern equipment.

The chairpersons of the beneficiaries of the FCAs signed an agreement with the agency for the proper operation and maintenance of the machinery.

Danilo Nano, chairman of one of the farmer groups, received a power sprayer. He thanked DA saying the "government help is very important for his farmers."

The distribution was led by HVCDP director Gerald Glenn Panganiban, Regional Technical Director for Research, Regulatory and Integrated Laboratories Arthur Dayrit, Chief of Field Operations Division Elma Mananes, Regional HVCDP Focal Person AB P. David and representatives from the local government of Arayat.

The machinery and equipment received by the cooperatives include multi-cultivators and power sprayers.
